Kia Ora! I'm a web developer based in Aotearoa New Zealand who is passionate about user experience and ensuring a consistent and strong design system.

I have experience working on various projects, both independently and as part of a team, where I have honed my skills in writing clean, efficient and accessibly compliant code.

Currently working within the Digital team as a Frontend Developer utilizing Salesforce to develop features for e-Commerce sites globally across five different brands.

Salesforce Commerce Cloud

Maintained and developed code for approximately 20 websites using Commerce Cloud. Created and maintained various features and integrations related with payment gateways, inventory, product, marketing, and order management services.

Accessibility

Championed the inclusion of a11y within the team. I was in charge of ensuring our a11y compliance met WCAG 2.2 at an AA level at the very least. Ran reports on a regular basis to monitor progress, raising tickets when needed to address concerns.

SCSS

Used SCSS within our codebase as our primary preprocessor. Worked to ensure consistent and efficient styles were being used by using various mixins, variables and maps where needed. Refactored where possible to remove redundant selectors (sharing utility across similar components).

Managed and coordinated with various teams to ensure content across multiple Fisher & Paykel websites is up to date and accurate. As we didn't have a CMS, all the content needed to be created using HTML.

Salesforce Commerce Cloud

Managed and maintained the product data that fed into commerce cloud as we transitioned to utilizing a product information management solution. Worked with various markets across the globe to create content related to promotions, influencer campaigns, and supporting copy for new product launches.

Leaned on bootstrap utility classes to customize content created within commerce cloud, ensuring that technical debt was kept to a minimum, while still operating within brand guidelines and styleguides.

Javasript

Working alongside our development team, I used javascript on ocassion to implement ad-hoc features based on business priorities to extend the functionality of various components. This included creating incentivized lead generation forms, custom in-page navigation, and some helper scripts that increased the speed of some data entry tasks.

Email Marketing

I worked alongside the email marketing team to build a drag and drop email builder which halved the amount of time and effort involved with creating and sending EDM communications. Templates were built using MJML and tested using Litmus to ensure consistent behavior across all major email clients.

Working as a developer, designer, and content manager across a range of telehealth brands such as Healthline, Quitline, 1737, Gambling Helpline, and the COVID-19 Response team.

React

Involved with developing several legacy sites that were built on a .NET framework into a more modern React stack (MERN). While some of the sites were a 'lift and shift', others needed a redesign, and so I assisted with the design on those too.

Node.js

Used Node.js with Express to build the backend of many of our websites. Included integration with databases, auth providers, and more.

Azure DevOps

Created CI/CD pipelines and maintained the dev ops process ensuring all deployments ran smoothly to any environment.

MongoDB

Used mongoose and GraphQL to connect and make queries to our MongoDB clusters. Ensured performance didn't take a hit by only retrieving what was absolutely necessary and ensuring DB indices were optimized.

Leading the team of IT Support Analysts in triaging and resolving issues with infrastructure, network, desktop, applications, and user access.

Microsoft 365

Migrated all users to Microsoft 365 and was an administrator looking after Sharepoint, Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, and Azure policies.

Migrated several servers (IIS, AD, and various application servers) from on-premise to Azure. Monitored and maintained the health of these services through various stakeholders.

Here's a showcase of some of the personal projects I've created. I enjoy trying out new design patterns and am always striving for the perfect balance between utility classes and component classes with my stylesheets.
